Comptroller
AFSCME Council 79,
a public employee labor organization has an immediate
opening in its Tallahassee office for a Comptroller.
The Council 79 Comptroller is responsible for
the accuracy and integrity of the council’s accounting
data and systems. This position must have skills and
experience in maintaining a
general ledger, financial reporting, internal
controls and have a comprehensive understanding of
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Council 79’s
Comptroller must be a “hands-on shirt-sleeves”
accountant. Although this is a management position,
the Comptroller will be involved in the day-to-day
accounting activities of the union, as well as the
management responsibilities of the department.
