AFSCME Florida

We are AFSCME Florida

From the break of dawn on Miami’s shores to well after the sun sets across Pensacola’s beaches, the hardworking men and women of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) make Florida happen. From Collier County to Clay County, the home of America’s first settlement in St. Augustine to mile marker zero in Key West, our members can be found providing the vital services to make the lives of citizens across the Sunshine State better through a shared commitment to public service. As Florida’s fastest growing union, we are a proud part of a national union that advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and opportunity for all working families.

Connecticut Rep. Jahana Hayes recently introduced a resolution calling on Congress to affirm its support for providing living wages, good benefits and fair working conditions to paraeducators, classroom assistants, bus drivers, custodial workers and others who are vital to our public education system.
AFSCME’s “I AM Story” podcast has received a nomination for an NAACP Image Award in the “Outstanding Podcast – Limited Series/Short Form” category.

Having a voice on the job and a collective bargaining agreement means better pay, better health care, a more secure retirement, and so much more. But all of that is threatened by new laws that would take away our contract by taking away our union.

We can save our contract by signing up 60% or more of our coworkers in the union. This would save our ability to have a say in safety, staffing, and other important issues that help us do our jobs and keep our communities running.

Public service workers do hard things every day and we can save this if we work together. Please help save our contract by sharing who should join you in AFSCME membership.
