We are AFSCME Florida
From the break of dawn on Miami’s shores to well after the sun sets across Pensacola’s beaches, the hardworking men and women of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) make Florida happen. From Collier County to Clay County, the home of America’s first settlement in St. Augustine to mile marker zero in Key West, our members can be found providing the vital services to make the lives of citizens across the Sunshine State better through a shared commitment to public service. As Florida’s fastest growing union, we are a proud part of a national union that advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and opportunity for all working families.

The Florida House of Representatives is debating HB 1445 / SB 256, a bill backed by out-of-state anti-union groups that want to silence your voice on the job.
HB 1445 / SB 256 attacks public service workers simply because we are public service workers. By taking away your union contract and all the protections and benefits your won at the bargaining table, they will be taking away your freedom of speech, freedom of association and much more.
We are the ones who care for our sick, keep our communities clean, are on the front lines of hurricane response, get our kids to school safely and make Florida happen every day. We deserve the same rights as others to collectively speak up for a safe place to work, decent pay and fair benefits.
Please send a letter telling your State Representative to vote no on this attack on our freedoms!
Thank you.
