Local 1584: Final offer from School District of Manatee County on proposed contract

 Final offer from Management for Proposed New Contract:

Article II Section 5: - Reduce probationary period from 1 year to 120 working days.

    Section 9 E: Change Field Trips to Extra Curricular thus bus operators are eligible to participate in all extra-curricular trips. 

    Section 12: Weingarten Rights

Article V Section 5: List of New Hires available to the Union upon request.

Article VI Section 6: One week changed to 10 days after an investigation for Management to place action in Employee’s file. Employees must be notified if anything placed in Employee file. 

    Section 7: When Employee summoned to meeting, the issue being investigated must be provided to Employee in Notice.

Article IX Section 1: Seniority Lists to be posted in Transportation Dept., Maintenance Dept, and provided to Union President for custodial and food service in October. 

Article XI Section 2: Pay stubs should reflect actual pay and deductions and up to date pay and deductions. Should employees need salary verification it must be provided within 5 days. Vehicle Maintenance shall receive .25₵ per hour increase for every component certification obtained (up from .10₵). Automotive Master Certified Technician added to 4% pay supplement.

    Section 4: Shift differential pay added to all paid time including sick leave, holidays, and vacation leave. 

    Section 8: Uniform allowance raised to $171.24, Shoe allowance to $70.57

    Section 13: Payment for Longevity pay to take place in December and August

Article XII Section 4: All work performed during Emergencies shall be at the Employee’s regular primary hourly rate.

Article XIII Section 3: Veteran’s Day witched for Memorial Day as one of the 10 paid Holidays. 

Article XV Section 2: Six (6) days eligible to be cashed in (up from 2). 

Economics:

  • All increases retro-active to July 1, 2020
  • Add 1% to every cell of the pay scale/steps
  • Employees in Pay Grades 23B-R through 27B-R in Steps 1 through 4 shall be moved to Step 5 with Step 5 becoming the new starting salary for that Pat Grade. 
  • Employees in Pay Grades 28B-R through 33B-R in Steps 1 though 4 shall be moved to Step 5 with Step 5 becoming the new starting salary for that Pay Grade. 
  • All other Employees shall receive a one Step increase. 
  • All employees topped out shall move to a newly created Step
  • Mentioned in Article XI Section 2 above - Vehicle Maintenance shall receive 25₵ per hour increase for every component certification obtained (up from .10₵) 
  • Mentioned in Article 2 above - Automotive Master Certified Technician added to 4% pay supplement.
  • Mentioned in Article XV above - Six (6) days eligible to be cashed in (up from 2)
  • Mentioned in Article XI - Shift differential pay added to all paid time including sick leave, holidays, and vacation leave
